# What is Ethen

Ethen is a family of specialized AI apps that share one platform for identity, approvals, evidence, and audit. Each app does one job well instead of one console doing everything.

## What Ethen is not

- Ethen is **not** a single chatbot with plugins. Chat, Studio, and Connected Apps are separate apps with separate releases.
- Ethen is **not** a marketplace of independently engineered agents. Every product surface maps to one owning repository.
- Voice is **not** a separate app. [Ethen Voice](/products/voice) is the voice platform: conversational voice is used in [Chat](/docs/chat/voice); creation voice is used in [Studio](/docs/studio/voices).

## Availability honesty

Docs describe the current implementation only. Planned features are labeled as planned or roadmap — this page does not promise launch dates. Product lifecycles (live, private alpha, beta, preview, coming) follow the portfolio contract; when a page says a product is in private alpha, enrollment-gated surfaces stay out of public reach.
