# Voices

Studio voices are creation voice: design or clone a voice identity, bind it to a provider voice, and use it in audio projects. Conversational speech — talking with Ethen — lives in [Chat](/docs/chat/voice).

## Identities and consent

A voice identity is versioned. Cloning validates purpose, locale, and consent evidence — clone requests without consent evidence do not proceed. Creating an identity never mints a usable binding by itself: use stays consent-gated after creation.

## Bindings

A binding attaches one identity version to one provider voice. Bindings carry explicit state; pending bindings are listed as pending, never presented as usable. Attaching a provider voice requires a signed-in session and a project scope.

## Audio projects

Bound voices render inside audio projects (`/studio/audio`), which track stages and transcripts per project. Exports land in `/studio/exports` like any other Studio media.
